Behind the Scenes: Cover shoot – Seventies luxe

Posted on 17th July 2015 by PROinsider

If you’ve managed to get your hands on a copy of the new PRO Hair & Beauty magazine, you’ll notice our glamorous golden goddess on the cover. Our PROinsider went behind the scenes of the shoot to report on the inspiration, and the skills, behind the final look.

The SS15 catwalks were dripping with Seventies luxe, including those of Emilio Pucci, Matthew Williamson and Tommy Hilfiger. With bronzed skin, metallics, and super-glam hair being the key features of the trend, we pulled together a top team of pros to achieve the look for our cover.

Creating Farrah Fawcett flicks, TIGI session director Maria Kovacs told PROinsider: “To get that Seventies sweep, take the hair into a low side-parting. Use your comb and work upwards from the inside corner of one eyebrow for a deeper look.”

For the make-up, MUA Sarah Jagger transformed model Kajsa’s skin, giving her a glistening, sun-kissed look. “Blend a peach-toned cream blush on the cheeks. Over the top, lightly dab a golden highlighter on the tops of the cheekbones,” she said.

To get those copper-covered talons, nail technician Karen Louise used Morgan Taylor Nail Polish Bronzed & Beautiful. This polish is at its best when applied to long nails. “File the nails into an almond shape, keeping a little bit of length,” Karen advised. “If you need extra length, you can apply tips to create this look.”

The talented, professional team who worked on the cover reveal more of their tips and tricks for nailing this Seventies trend in the new issue out now! If you want a closer look at the team at work, and watch the model work the camera, then check out our exclusive Behind the Scenes video!
