10 hair stylists you need to follow on Instagram

Instagram is jam-packed with talented people showing off their skills from fashion to nail art, inspiring millions worldwide to try something new. But if you’re a professional hairdresser at the top of your game, you might want to follow people who take hair colouring and styling to the next level. There are thousands of jaw-dropping Instagram accounts for hair geeks out there, but just to start you off we’ve rounded up 10 of our favourite hair heroes of Instagram. Comment below if we’ve missed any of your fave hair stylists.

Follow if: You’re a barber or specialise in men’s hair styling.
Bio: Chris Foster is an award-winning hair stylist specialising in classic barbering with a modern twist.  As well as a successful session stylist, Chris launched The Foss Academy, a training company that specialises in delivering prestigious education to the men’s grooming market.
Expect: Throwbacks to old-school barbering images, fade demonstrations and protégés from The Foss Academy.

Follow if: You’re a fan of the avant-garde.
Bio: Skyler is the creative director for seanhanna and global ambassador for L'Oréal.
Expect: Styles that are larger than life and worthy of art gallery status.

Follow if: You’re obsessed with the Kardashians.
Bio: Jen Atkin is a hairstylist to the stars, including Chrissy Teigen, Cindy Crawford and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. The celebrity hairstylist is also the magic behind the impressive tresses of the Kardashian clan.
Expect: The Kardashian family album.

Follow if: You’re more high fashion than High Street.
Bio: Editorial stylist Luigi Murenu has gained many celeb clients from Madonna to Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Moss through his wide range of skills varying from wild and whimsical to pretty and glamorous.
Expect: The crème de la crème of A-listers and breathtaking editorial shoots.

Follow if: Old-school Hollywood glam is your thing.
Bio: Freelance hair stylist Jenny Cho is responsible for the A-list locks of Amanda Seyfried, Emilia Clarke and Carey Mulligan. Jenny is motivated by discovering a sense of subtlety and confidence in her client, and is inspired by nature, architecture and travel.
Expect: Lots of nature, architecture and travel inspiration – a sea of red carpet styles.

Follow if: You’re California dreamin’.
Bio: This is the man behind ‘The Rachel’. Enough said really.
Expect: Jennifer Aniston tresses and LA sunshine.

Follow if: You’re chilled out and love effortless up-dos.
Bio: King of the loose wave, Mark is an expert in mastering soft, feminine hair, which is why his celebrity clients feature Hollywood’s young elite including the Olsen twins, Elizabeth Olsen and Dakota Johnson.  
Expect: A-list waves.

Follow if: You like styles with an edge.
Bio: TIGI creative director Nick Irwin has worked on numerous fashion shows, celebrities and shoots.
Expect: Sophisticated edge and cameo appearances from his cute daughter Rubee and her amazing hair.

Follow if: You live and breathe rainbow colour.
Bio: BLEACH London’s Loren Miles is possibly the coolest hairstylist around with clients including Becca Dudley, model Portia Freeman and singer Nina Nesbitt.
Expect: Neon, bright, vibrant colour. And more colour. And then a few more shades.

Follow if: You’re interested in cool, Shoreditch-vibe male hairdressing.
Bio: Kevin is a TONI&GUY international artistic Director based at the TONI&GUY London Academy, and is a passionate educator with a huge talent for male hairdressing. Outside of the Academy, Kevin retains a loyal clientele at the company’s new Shoreditch salon (with a dedicated floor to men’s grooming).
Expect: Black and white retro styles for men and women, quiffs and tattoos.
