3 new ways to wear your hair at the gym

1. The Yoga Buns – Best for: Yoga bunnies

Step 1: Part hair into four equal sections (or just two if you’re running a little late for that early class).

Step 2: Pin hair behind ears and run a row of bobby pins the full way around to the other ear.

Step 3: Split each section into two and twist both sections to the left whilst crossing the sections over each other to the right. Secure by tying the ends with an elastic.

Step 4: Take a tiny bit of hair from the very bottom of the twisted sections and as you pull it down, push up the rest of the hair around it to leave a short, messy section of hair. Repeat on all sections.

Step 5: Roll each section up into a bun and pin into place, (for super-sized energy work-outs, use a small hair band for extra security).

2. The High Intensity Twist Best for: Spinning fans  

Step 1: Separate a section of hair from the top of the head and clip this out of the way.

Step 2: Take a small section from one side of the bottom section and twist it whilst pulling it around to your hairline on the other side. When you get there, pick up a new section of hair and add it to the twist and take this back to the first side - making an ‘S’ shape on the back of the head. Keep the tension throughout and pin the hair in place as you go. Continue this method until all the hair is used.

Step 3: Brush out the top section, gently twist it backwards and push forwards into a quiff.

Step 4: Twist and pin the excess hair and finish with hairspray.

3. All Wrapped Up Best for: Cycle enthusiasts

Step 1: Split your hair into three sections – two at the sides and one at the back.

Step 2: Tie the back section into a tight ponytail (mid-height) and plait it. Secure by tying it at the end, pulling small pieces of hair out for that messy finish.

Step 3: Wrap the plait into a bun and secure with a hairband or pins.

Step 4: French plait the two sides and join them to the bun. Pin into place.
