In addition to being cruelty-free, most of their care, colour and styling products are vegan. With a commitment to making 10 out of the 12 product lines 100% vegan by 2023. Paul Mitchell Clean Beauty products are manufactured with 100% certified clean energy from renewable sources produced by hydroelectric power plants. Clean energy helps reduce pollution and greenhouse gases. Their global distribution HQ in California is solar-powered which provides 90% of the energy needed to run the building during working hours, keeping 337 metric tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere annually. To add to this, Tea Tree has planted one million trees and has made a commitment to plant one million more trees by the end of 2025 in places where reforestation is needed the most. By doing this another, 150,000 metric tons of CO2 will be removed from the atmosphere during their lifetime.

Minimize waste to landfill

Paul Mitchell is proud to partner with Homeboy Industries to responsibly recycle 100% of hair tools returned to JPMS, keeping 5.6 tons of old tools out of landfills each year. In the UK, Paul Mitchell is partnered with Green Salon Collective, an organisation that provides sustainable waste management by sending daily by-products like hair colour, used foils and hair clipping for eco-friendly recycling.
