Scissor-cut Contour
CREATE IT
Step 1
Wash your client’s hair then while it’s wet establish a natural parting and section it using an asymmetric horseshoe
Step 2
Starting at the temples, cut the hair with scissors graduated from long to short and meet both sides at the nape
Step 3
Connect the top into the graduated back and sides using the guide created
Step 4
Through the top point cut at a 30 degree angle leaving the side closest to the parting longest and blend the opposite side into the existing guide
Step 5
Blast dry and create some movement using a pomp brush
Step 6
Finish off the cut using scissor-over-comb and detailer trimmers
Step 7
Finally, style with some The Bluebeards Revenge Matt Paste

Step 2
Put in your grade two blank canvas starting at the temples, graduating out more towards the back ready to blend in the back to give a good shape

Step 4
Line up with trimmers and a razor
Step 5
Release the top and establish a profile section to create your guide from long to short toward the nape
Step 6
Using horizontal sections and the established guide elevate to 90 degrees and remove the corners to create a triangle shape through the top and reduce weight on the sides
Step 7
Blend the top from behind the ear into the back
Step 8
Dry straight back using a flat brush and finish with The Bluebeards Revenge Matt Paste

Step 3
Blend in the top to the sides and back, using horizontal sections alternate between two different angles of point cutting to create extra texture
Step 4
Rough dry using salt spray to make the most of the texture
Step 5
Once dry use slicing techniques to release more texture and ensure taper is perfect. Finish off by lining up with trimmers and a razor
