Zero lift, zero damage and maximum shine. Discover Wella’s brand new Shinefinity Glaze system and how it compares to glossing

Zero lift, zero damage and maximum shine. Discover Wella’s brand new Shinefinity Glaze system and how it compares to glossing..

Many clients come to your salon or freelance hairdressers wanting colour with a luminous shine. You can give them the usual glossing service, but there’s another technique you can perform that offers shining hair with zero lifting: glazing. Enter Shinefinity Glaze, Wella Professional’s newest colour innovation that gives any hair type a radiant glow with no damage. We will explore why the Shinefinity Glaze system is the latest must-have to help you boost profits and attract more clients, while looking at what makes glazing different to glossing treatments.

What’s the difference between hair glossing and glazing?

We know it’s easy to confuse glossing and glazing as both use similar techniques to give hair a mirror-like shine. However, there is one key difference and it’s all in the formula. Glossing is performed using a permanent colour and low developer, meaning it will provide minimal lift on your client’s hair during development. Glazing on the other hand uses demi-permanent dye to give hair extra dimension and shine without lifting the cuticle. Whichever technique you choose, both add a glow to your client’s hair that gives them an instant confidence boost.

What is Shinefinity Glaze?

Shinefinity Glaze is Wella Professional’s new demi-permanent colour system that adds unbelievable shine to hair with zero lifting and damage. Containing no silicones, ammonia or alcohol, its gel cream formula uses advanced pH technology to maintain an optimal acidic level throughout development, meaning you can achieve consistently healthy results on the most porous hair. Offering reliable and “true to tone” colour that lasts six weeks, Shinefinity Glaze comes in 32 gorgeous shades divided into four families:

  • Warm – suitable for darkening hair and performing colour corrections, especially on fragile hair types
  • Natural – suitable for root melts and adding natural shine to virgin hair
  • Cool – suitable for neutralising unwanted warm tones in blonde hair
  • Booster – sheer colours made for mixing with other Shinefinity shades

Why should I use Wella Shinefinity?

Infinite techniques

Shinefinity Glaze’s gel formula unlocks the potential for you to perform an infinite number of techniques that enhance your client’s colour. Suitable as a stand-alone treatment and an add-on to another service, just some of techniques you can do using Shinefinity Glaze include:

  • Post-blonding services
  • Highlights
  • Balayage
  • xxShadow
  • Colour correction

Suits every hair type

No matter if your client’s hair is thick, fine, virgin or curly, Shinefinity Glaze’s zero lift formula gives any hair base and type unrivalled shine with no damage. Shinefinity Glaze is even perfect on the driest and most fragile hair, as it smoothens the cuticle for silky results.

Speedy service times

Shinefinity Glaze has a development time of 20 minutes, making it a must-have for express services and days you have a busy schedule. If you have clients on the go wanting less intense results, Shinefinity Glaze is flexible enough to develop in just 10 minutes!

Simple formula

The Shinefinity Glaze system is easy to use because all you need to do is mix your chosen Shinefinity colour and activator depending on your application technique at 1:1 ratio. Its formula is also non-drip, so you can perform your client’s service quickly without leaving a mess.

Balanced pH technology

Shinefinity Glaze’s gentle acidic formula is crafted to regulate the hair’s pH level throughout development. This ensures that you can achieve consistently balanced and healthy results in each Shinefinity Glaze service.

How to use Wella Shinefinity Glaze

Step One

Mix your client’s chosen Shinefinity Glaze shade and Shinefinity Activator at a 1:1 ratio, for example:

  • 30g Shinefinity Glaze Warm 06.73 Caramel Chocolate
  • 30g Shinefinity Glaze Brush and Bowl Activator

TOP TIP: If your client wants softer results, you can personalise the mixture using Crystal Glaze, Blue Booster or Violet Booster.

Step Two

Apply the Shinefinity formula using a technique that suits you and your client on wet or dry pre-shampooed hair and leave to develop for up to 20 minutes depending on the desired intensity.

TOP TIP: If your client wants more saturated results, apply the formula on dry hair.

Step Three

Wash the Shinefinity Glaze formula out using the Wella Elements Renewing Shampoo and Wella Elements Renewing Conditioner. Proceed to blow-dry and style hair.
