The hair and beauty treatments to promote in Dry January

It’s January, which means many of your hair and beauty customers will be off the booze. According to Alcohol Change, more than four million people across the UK took part in Dry January last year!

With even more expected to take part in 2020, why not turn this alcohol-free month into a marketing opportunity for your salon, barbershop or mobile business by promoting the most relaxing, hydrating and detoxifying treatments on your menu.

Hydrating body treatments

Alcohol dehydrates your skin and can deprive it of vital nutrients and vitamins according to DrinkAware.

So give your client’s skin a helping hand after the Christmas party season by promoting your most hydrating treatments for their face and body.

This could be anything from a collagen facial to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles through to upselling deep penetrating hand and foot masks as part of your manicure and pedicureservices.

Lymphatic drainage massage

Cutting out alcohol doesn’t mean your body is instantly clear of the after-effects. So why not promote your lymphatic drainage massages to get rid of any nasty toxins and remove the extra fluid from all those Christmas cocktails.

“According to research,a whopping 88% of people who do Dry January save money. Which means clients just might be in the mood to spend it on some luxury pampering they wouldn’t normally consider.”

Skin solutions

A Sussex Universitystudy found 54% of those who took part in Dry January had better skin.

So why not help your clients boost their glowing skin even more with a session of dermaplaning or an intensive facial?

Alternatively, you could promote a course of treatments and offer a discount if they book during Dry January.

Relaxing massages

Did you know that alcohol also messes with your sleep cycles? And this means poor sleep quality after a night on the booze.

As your teetotal customers adjust to better sleep, boost their wellbeing by upselling your most relaxing massage treatments.

Nail treatments

Alcohol can even wreak havoc on your nails, making them brittle and more likely to snap. So if your clients are booking in for a manicure, why not suggest a course of deep nail conditioning treatments as well. You could either add it as part of your service or promote your retail products like IBX Repair.

Hair conditioning treatments

Just as it dehydrates the skin, alcohol can also weaken and dry out your hair and even, in some cases, lead to hair loss.

As part of your Dry January salon promotions, why not shout about your deep conditioning hair treatments for colour or cut clients. And check out the Olaplex rangewhich rebuilds the hair from within.

Detox treatments

Another way to get rid of toxins left behind by the booze is to offer detoxifying treatments in your salon or mobile business. This could be anything from a charcoal pedicure to draw out any impurities through to a salt scrub or dry brushing treatment.

Luxury upgrades

According to research, a whopping 88% of people who do Dry January save money. Which means clients just might be in the mood to spend it on some luxury pampering they wouldn’t normally consider.

Think about upselling luxury add-ons - from nail artto eyelash extensions- when your customers book in for a treatment.

Stay inspired
