Step-by-Step: Valentine’s Day nails

Posted on 12th February 2016 by PROinsider
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and is the perfect excuse to go a little OTT on your client's nails. This romantic love-letter Valentines nail art design, created by London-based nail technician Karen Louise, isn’t too tricky to do but the results are head-turning. Here’s how to do it in five easy steps.

Step 1:

Take a pale pink polish like EverGlaze Extended Wear nail polish in Blush Much, and paint on the first part of the envelope design. Take it vertically across half of the nail, then diagonally to each corner, leaving a colour-free triangle space.
Step 2:

Using Color Club Art Club Striper Pen in Black  draw in the lines of the envelope.
Step 3:

Draw a small heart on the other side of the nail with a pink polish using a Gelish Striper Brush .
Step 4:

Fill in the space surrounding the heart with the same pink polish used in Step 1 (Remember to use a fine brush again for more control). Clean up any mistakes with a brush and nail polish remover, and finish with Nails Inc Pro Top Coat.

If your client wants something subtle, suggest using the love-letter design for a feature nail – or if nail art isn’t their style, try one of these romantic hues instead…
