3 Salon Marketing Tips for the New Year

Once the rush of the festive season is over it's very easy to feel a little deflated. Fight off the January blues by setting yourself some smart small business marketing goals and inject some pizazz into your plans with the help of our top tips and salon ideas for the New Year.

1. Get in on the January sales

If you're wondering how to increase sales during the post-festive slump, a sale is best way to do it.  You may not be able to offer the same kind of deep discounts as the supermarkets or high street shops, but that doesn’t mean you have to skimp on the sales altogether. Get in on the action without hurting your bottom line by creating special offers for your quiet days and by being selective about which services - and which therapists or stylists - you include in your deals.

2. Try a 'new you' campaign

There's a good chance that many of your regular clients will be visiting your over Christmas and New Year, getting coloured, plucked and prepared for the party season. This can make it hard to tempt them back through the door in the cold months of January, but it's not impossible! Create a 'New Year, New You' campaign that encourages customers to shake off the overindulgence of the festive season.

3. Deals to tempt clients through the door

Even better, run a gift card deal on one day during the festival season or in January that offers 'buy two, get one free' treatments – as long as the free treatment is redeemed during the quiet winter months. This will ensure that your salon stays busy and looks inviting throughout January and once you have clients through the door, you'll have the chance to upsell treatments and retail lines too.
Most of all, remember to be merry and bright even if you're tired out after the festive rush. When you're cheerful and your salon is looking good, clients will find it much harder to stay away.
